15th Aug 2024

A Level results day at Stanwell was a time for celebration of the outstanding results achieved by Year 12 and Year 13. Students, their families and school staff are incredibly proud of their grades which represent the talent, hard work and dedication shown throughout their chosen courses.

There certainly was a great deal to celebrate this year! Nearly 50% of all Stanwell entries were A* or A grades with 35% of all Year 13 students achieving 3A* and A grades. As well as the success of the cohort there were also very many superb individual results. In Year 13 there were 34 students who achieved 4 A* or A grades which equates to17%.

Mrs Stephanie McGowan, Head of Year 13 said, “We are incredibly proud of Year 13 and these results are exceptional in light of the return to pre-pandemic grade boundaries. They and their teachers have faced the challenges of the last four years with resilience and dedication and they should celebrate today. They have been a wonderful year group and we wish them the very best for the next chapter of their lives in university or employment.”

Mr Owen Flatley, Head of Sixth Form, who attended the results day along with many other staff members to congratulate the students said, “Results day is always such a rewarding experience as students see the value of all the hours of perseverance and application, setting them up with excellent habits for their futures. Nearly all of the students have gained access to their first choice university or are in a position to embark on their chosen pathway. I’d like to say to them all - well done on behalf of all your teachers, we are super proud of you!”
