Year 6-7 Transition
Information for Primary Pupils & Parents
Transition – What does it mean?
Transition means moving from Year 6 in primary school to Year 7 in secondary school. There are many systems in place here at Stanwell so we are ready to respond to individual needs of all pupils in order to ensure everyone is as happy and comfortable as they can be with their transition into secondary school life.
Our Feeder Primary Schools are:
Albert Primary; Evenlode Primary; Sully Primary & Victoria Primary

What Happens Next?
It’s only natural to feel apprehensive about joining secondary school and we understand you may be worried so we do plenty of things to help you get ready. We work closely with your primary school by inviting you to ‘taster’ sessions while you are in Year 6 and of course our Open Evening for you to come and see us at work. This is so you become familiar with life at Stanwell before joining in September.
We also listen to what Year 6 and 7 pupils tell us about transferring to Stanwell and look at ways we can help you move from one school to the other as smoothly as possible.
